James Demmick was born in 1958 in the open range
of Montana. He displayed an early talent for drawing the rugged country and early on loved drawing horses.
He studied at a community college in Bozeman Montana for a few years before going to Chicago Illinois
and honing his craft at the prestigious art school, "The Art Institute of Chicago".
He developed at the school and acquired a very technically and detailed style which gives him satisfaction and he purposely paints as if its
to be viewed as a photograph. He is quite realistic in most of his works but is capable of Impressionism as well.
He lives with his wife Dolores on their ranch and when he isn't painting, he rides horses, hikes in the mountains and watches football.
